WEEK 4 







1-resolve
Definition: to come a definite or strong determination to do something .  
Part of speech: noun .
Sentence: He doesn't have enough resolve to pursue his dreams .
Collocation: resolve the tension .


2-inclined  
Definition: wanting to do something  .
Part of speech: adjective.
Sentence: I’m often inclined to go to the beach on the weekends  .
Collocation: often inclined .


3-proceeds
Definition: total profit that is made .
Part of speech: noun .
Sentence: I’m using  proceeds from my paintings sales to help the charity  .
Collocation: project proceeds .


4-allocate  .
Definition: to give something for a specific purpose .
Part of speech: verb.
Sentence: The UCR library allocated $2000 for the purchase of new science books .
Collocation: allocate funds.


5-primary
Definition: main. Most important .
Part of speech: adjective
Sentence: The primary reason for air pollution is smoking ..
Collocation: primary goal .


6-sustain  
Definition: maintain , give support  , bear .
Part of speech: verb.
Sentence: She couldn't sustain the weight of all the books , so she fell.
Collocation: sustains contention  .


7-quote
Definition: cite , mention .
Part of speech: noun .
Sentence: My favorite quote is “to be or not to be ,that is the question” by Shakespeare  .

8- reluctance
Definition: unwillingness, resistance.
Part of speech: noun.
Sentence: The owner’s reluctance to go for walking is bothering his dog   .

Definition: a sum paid by governments as cost of something to help it happen  .
